Ms. Melanie Renae Davis is a proud 1977 Cum Laude graduate of Fisk University (Nashville, TN), where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Minor in Public Administration. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Webster University in May of 1999.  Melanie has served over 31 years with the U.S. Federal Government; she currently works as a Tax Law Specialist with the Department of the Treasury – Internal Revenue Service.

In 2016, Ms. Melanie was voted Corresponding Secretary of the St. Louis HBCU Alumni Association. She is also the President of the Metropolitan St Louis Fisk Alumni Association and Target II – Health Promotions Co-Chairman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Gamma Omega Chapter.

  Ms. Melanie is a widow and has one precious daughter, Breanna Danielle Davis.  Her aunt, Ms. Janice Grimes and cousin, Kyra Robinson, are Fisk graduates. Her deceased parents, William and Doris Johnson, and her sisters, Bridget O. Johnson and Mrs. Carmeleita E. Winburn, are Tennessee State University graduates.

Ms. Melanie is an avid reader who loves bowling and shopping.
